You are mistaken. He is using the single line comment type, which is just two slashes. You are changing that comment to the multi-line type, but not removing the trailing slash. Because of this, his original code is valid, but yours is not.

His use of asterisks isn’t in the syntax for PHP comments, just a visual flair.

I’ve recently had to configure a production web server, using webmin and a lot of SSH. Getting apache setup was a breeze but getting Postfix and Dovecot running together and working properly was an absolute nightmare.

Still it is certainly something worth doing – it does wonders for your knowledge levels and its good to gain more insight into what’s happening under the hood.

Things like Plesk are great but sometimes they hide too much.

i am using centos i downloaded using the following command
wget http://www.pdflib.com/binaries/PDFlib/704/PDFlib-7.0.4p6-Linux-php.tar.gz
and i extracted into the /usr/src/ after tha i wrote a command cd PDFlib-7.0.4p6-Linux-php then i went to the extracted directory then i wrote a command ./configure but this time i am getting error No such file or directory what should i do can u please help me
